Splenosis

  • Benign Heterotopic Autotransplantation of Splenic Tissue Throughout the Peritoneal Cavity
    • Often Have > 100 Nodules
  • Causes: Trauma or Surgery

Presentation

  • Usually Asymptomatic
  • May See Lack of Typical Post-Splenectomy Changes in Blood Smear
  • Can Mimic Peritoneal Malignancy on Imaging

Diagnosis

  • Dx: Radiolabeled RBC Scan
